ODIN DIET 9.1.0.5 on  Windows Vista -Home Basic, "System Error(10055) (setsockopt)" issue
I am having issues with login for ODIN DIET 9.1.0.5, my OS is Windows Vista -Home Basic. Untill yesterday, I was able to login, but today its not working and gives me an error message - "System Error(10055) (setsockopt)". When I talked to the Tech Support at R K Global, he asked me to change my OS or use a direct broadband - I am using a broadband stick. Can someone please help me out with this issue. Thanks

Were you able to find the solution for this? My parents are also having same issues. When the Tech Support is logging in our computer remotely, it works but when they try, it gives the same error again. We have broadband wired connection and Windows Vista. Please let me know.

Not yet. I think the issue should be with some security updates which I had downloaded on 22-Apr. When it did not work on 23rd, I called the IT guys and they said that either I need to downgrade the OS to XP or use a wired broadband. Now with your reply it seems that its the issue with wired broadband also. Well, I have removed the updates which were downloaded on 22nd and then now I'll check on monday - 26th (as the system doesnt allow me to login untill then). So, hopefully with this it will work, if it doesnt, then I'll have to switch using the web version instead of ODIN. (I found it bit slower though - but will have to live with it since I cannot downgrade my OS)

Downgrading is definitely not an option. Let me know if it works for you on Monday. Then I will ask my dad to delete any updates that mights have downloaded automatically. Problem is I cant do it myself as I am not staying with my parents right now. So it will have to be over the phone. Thanks for your quick reply and your help with this.

I had put a mail to the company's tech dept. They reverted. I have once again installed the updates (windows upates which I had deleted). The company has published new registry entries - rkglobal.net->download DNS regsitry 15-04-2010. Restart your PC. It worked for me today morning. So, hopefully it should work for you also. Bye

I installed the updated and the registry file and still wouldn't work. Turned out while installing updated the IP address somehow changed. So the tech support of the broker site logged in remotely and generated the unique ID again with the new IP address. Its working now, but thanks for your note. It was helpful. :)
